Established in 1889 by Edward Wieners in beautiful Walworth County Wisconsin, Oak Shade Farm sits on 140 acres in the Town of Spring Prairie. The current farm is owned by the Edward J. Wieners family. Their Registered Hereford herd was established in 1995, the Registered Shropshire herd in 1998 and the Registered Natural Colored herd in 2005.
Oak Shade Farm has always been a family farm. Established in 1889 by Edward Wieners and past to his son Frank Wieners who past it on to his son and current owner Ed Wieners. Originally a dairy & swine farm it has evolved into it’s current herd of Hereford & Simmental Cattle along with Shropshire & Natural Colored Sheep. All of which came to be from the marriage of Ed to Bev Baker in 1993.
The Hereford Herd originates from Baker’s Polled Herefords in Elkhorn Wisconsin, Bev’s parents. The Shropshire Herd came from Bev’s aunt and uncle with Cederbend Farm also in Elkhorn Wisconsin. It has evolved into including Simmental breeding and Natural Colored sheep.
4-H has been a major player in Ed & Bev meeting while they were both members in Walworth County. Daughters Megan, Maura & Dana were both active in 4-H and in the farm now.
We take pride in having livestock that has great temperaments!
